8891 – U.S. Information Return for Beneficiaries of Certain Canadian Registered Retirement Plans
Canadian non-resident U.S. taxpayers who hold or are a beneficiary to a Canadian RRSP or RRIF account are required to complete the 8891 form which details the contributions made, earnings accrued but not distributed and distributions received. Canadian non-resident U.S. taxpayers are required to file every year and is used to elect to defer U.S. tax accrued on RRSP or RRIF. Separate 8891 forms are required for each RRSP or RRIF account.
